Tips

Retreat is recommended when surrounded, low on Sanity or out of stamina. Entering an area ahead of quest progress drains Sanity 15 times faster. Kills restore Sanity, so clearing a path can be preferable to running through enemies. [1]

Behavior

A missed weave costs one second; a successful weave cancels an entire attack. The weave buff is the only speed bonus that combat does not halve. [2]

Monster drops use one roll for everybody, based on the luckiest qualifying contributor. [3]

Strategy

Turning toward the escape direction before retreating is recommended: backing away while keeping the camera on the target is slower. Evades cannot begin during a swing. [4]

Jumping over green tells and choosing reactions by tell colour are recommended. Ground jumps have no cost, while the second jump grants no immunity. An incorrect reaction is treated like no reaction. [5]

Requirements

Reward qualification depends on damage contribution rather than the killing blow: 20% for a monster and 40% for a player. [6]
